Posted on behalf of C. Vivian Lorenzo, MD I am writing to update the campus community on the results of additional laboratory testing related to the death of an Ithaca College student yesterday. The New York State Department of Health has advised us that testing is negative for any bacterial infection that would require preventive antibiotics to close contacts. Those who have questions can contact the Hammond Health Center at 607-274-3177. We at Ithaca College extend our deepest sympathy to her parents, family, friends, and everyone she has been associated with at Ithaca College. Please hold Shannon’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Friends and classmates are invited to gather together tonight, November 12, beginning at 7 p.m. in Muller Chapel to support one another, with assistance from counselors and chaplains.
