Do You Want to Make Changes to Your Benefits for 2016?Contributed by Cheryl Thomason on 11/19/15 If you haven’t re-enrolled yet, the deadline is Friday, November 20 at Noon!
As previously communicated, completion of the online re-enrollment process is not required this year, but is highly recommended. If you do not re-enroll, your current benefit elections will continue with the exception of any voluntary contribution to a flexible spending account or health savings account. In addition, if you opt-out of the college’s medical plans and have left-over benefit credits (non-cashable) they will automatically be deposited into a health care flexible spending account. If you are enrolled in a high deductible health plan, having excess benefit credits deposited into a flexible spending account may have IRS tax implications.
Please refer to the 2016 Benefits Re-Enrollment Guide for specific information on how to re-enroll (page 3). For your convenience, HR staff members will be available on Friday, November 20 from 8:30 am to noon. An Aetna representative will also be available during those times to answer any questions you may have related to the medical plans or savings accounts. The drop-in sessions will be held in the Office of Human Resources, located on the Garden Level of the Peggy Ryan Williams Center.
