Second candidate for H&S Dean on campus Thursday 12/3Contributed by Diane Gayeski on 12/01/15 Dr. Teresa V. Longo, Associate Professor of Hispanic Studies and former Dean for Curriculum Review at the College of William & Mary, is our second candidate for the position of Dean of the School of Humanities and Sciences. All members of the campus community are invited to attend her open presentation in Textor 102 at 12:05 on Thursday December 3. Dr. Longo led the design of William & Mary’s new College Curriculum, which emphasizes an integrated, interdisciplinary and global approach to liberal education. In her previous role as Dean for Educational Policy, she also had oversight of all departments in Humanities and Arts as well as the Global Studies programs. As a scholar, Longo works on the relationship between Latin America and the United States as it is articulated culturally and has recently completed the book manuscript Visible Dissent. Her complete c.v. is available at https://www.ithaca.edu/wpm_preview/site/candidate-cvs/ and a feedback form can be accessed at this same site. The search committee encourages active participation in this important process as we select one of our most important campus leaders. As a reminder, we will also have our first candidate's open presentation on Tuesday, December 1 in Textor 102 at 12:05. Candidates 3 and 4 will be on campus December 8 and December 10 with presentations at the same time and place. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Gwen Benners at gbennersi@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-3895. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible. |
