Our SoTL (Scholarship of Teaching and Learning) in a Bottle events this semester have been fabulous. Thank you to all who have attended for the interesting and thought-provoking conversations we've had. Our last SoTL in a Bottle event for the semester will be Friday, Dec. 4th at 4PM at Argos Inn. Never fear, we will continue our congenial and convivial gatherings in the spring semester!

At the last event, those present thought it might be nice to read an article together and discuss it as part of our happy-hour gathering. Based on the conversations we've had so far, I thought this article by Stephen Chew might be a good place to start:   www.psychologicalscience.org/index.php/publications/observer/2010/april-10/improving-classroom-performance-by-challenging-student-misconceptions-about-learning.html   Stephen Chew's name has come up several times in our conversations, and this piece—although short—references many of the topics we've touched upon. I think it will be a good springboard for us.   I hope to see you soon! Debbie Rifkin  -Center for Faculty Excellence Resident Fellow for SoTL and Creativity, 2015-16
