Imagine being 29 years old and trapped inside your country. Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour is a conscientious objector who refused to take part in mandatory military service and was denied a passport as a result. He wrote WHITE RABBIT RED RABBIT to dissect the experience of an entire generation born amid the hardship of the Iran-Iraq war, and to get his story heard outside of Iran.

This utterly original play is an absurdist adventure blending comedy and drama, but the playwright mandates that there be no director, no set, and no rehearsals: each performance features a different actor who gets to see the script for the first time when stepping onstage! Catch this wild worldwide theatrical experiment making its Ithaca debut.

At Circus Culture in Press Bay Alley (116 W. Green St., Ithaca), seven of Ithaca's actors will take the plunge:

*A LIMITED NUMBER OF STUDENT COMPS ARE AVAILABLE for Sat. 12/5 @4:00pm. To request comps:  Email info@thecherryarts.org with the word COMPS in the subject line. Include the number of tix you're requesting (maximum 2 per person) as well as a cell phone number in case we need to reach you. You will receive an email confirming your reservation.  Bring a student ID and arrive at 30 minutes before the show to pick up comps.

The Cherry Arts is Ithaca's newest not-for-profit professional theatre company, devoted to providing audiences in Ithaca & NYC with theatre experiences that are radically local, radically international, and formally innovative, and to creating works developed by an ensemble of professional theatre artists who call Ithaca home.
