Ithaca College

IC is growing in its number of students who are the first in their family to attend or complete college. As you know, first generation students face unique challenges, and many find it hard to believe that those of us within the academy were ever outsiders. We are asking for your assistance with helping them succeed in imagining themselves as college graduates.

If you were a first-gen student, please share your story with us. We anticipate making our collective stories available in a variety of formats, from video to print to online to podcast, so we can share them with our students. Later in this project, we can imagine having panel presentations of first-generation students, staff and faculty for the campus community.
