The Office of Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs is seeking a two members of the staff or faculty who are interested in serving as a trip advisers for students participating in the Alternative Spring Break Program (ASB) from March 12 - March 20, 2016. We are currently seeking an adviser for the volunteer trip to Salamanca, NY, where students will work at a youth center located on the Seneca Nation of Indians Allegany Territory, Students on this trip will have the opportunity to learn more about the dynamics between native and non-native peoples living in the area. In addition, one adviser will be needed for the trip to Kiptopeke State Park in Cape Charles, Virginia, where students will engage in a variety of park preservation and maintenance projects. Faculty and staff at IC who serve as advisers perform several important tasks: --travel with students to various destination and assist with driving --serve as the emergency contact --assure that all ASB policies are followed --manage the group's budget and itinerary All faculty and staff advisers receive an orientation to the program prior to travel, and their involvement comes at absolutely no personal financial cost.
