We will have an informational session held on Wednesday Feb 3rd from 12:15-12:50 in the Wellness Clinic Classroom.

The Exercise Science and Physical Therapy Departments are teaming up to offer a personalized exercise and wellness program to Ithaca College employees and spouses who:

-          Have a current or past diagnosis of cancer

-          Are interested in starting an individualized wellness and exercise program

-          Are not currently participating in a regular exercise program

Physical activity has been shown to improve the quality of life for individuals with a diagnosis or history of cancer. However, after a diagnosis, considerations and precautions need to be taken to ensure that an exercise program meets the specific needs of the client to ensure safety and success.

This is a FREE program that includes the following:

-          Membership to the Ithaca College Wellness Clinic (if not already a member)

-          Initial Health and Fitness Assessment and periodic re-evaluation

-  Individualized exercise program designed by a team of Exercise Science and Physical Therapy students with supervision and oversight by a certified Exercise Physiologist and licensed Physical Therapist

-          Personal and/or group exercise training sessions

-          Weekly communication with members of your wellness team

-          Tracking of your fitness progress

-          Periodic wellness and education classes (i.e. nutrition, emotional support, etc.)
