Because of the winter storm expected to heavily impact the East Coast over the next several days, many students—as well as faculty and staff—who are currently out of town may face difficulties returning to Ithaca in time for the start of the spring semester. 

Our first priority is your safety. The college wants to make sure you make safe travel decisions, and therefore will not penalize those who are unable to return to Ithaca from or through areas affected by the storm.

Ithaca and the surrounding region is not itself predicted to be hit by the storm.

For any faculty and staff whose travel plans back to Ithaca are going to be delayed, we ask that you contact your Dean/Supervisor to make them aware of your situation. Any faculty who will miss class on Monday should also post an announcement for their students on Sakai.

Students who are unable to attend Monday’s classes should notify their instructors accordingly, and we ask that faculty members be understanding of those students’ situations. Additionally, the drop/add period to modify course schedules will be extended for students who may miss a Monday-only class.
