Dr. Nia Nunn Makepeace will be performing her dance choreography at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Commemorative Lecture Featuring the founders of BlackLivesMatter, Patrisse Cullors, Opal Tometi, and Alicia Garza- Wednesday @ 4:00PM (2/3/16)- Sage Chapel at Cornell University. Dr. Nia and several Ithaca College students, as well as Ithaca youth from the Community Unity Music Education Program (CUMEP) will be performing her choreography of “Strange Fruit” – a dance that illustrates the story of the relationship between the Anti-Lynching Movement and the Black Lives Matter Movement.
