Microsoft has stopped supporting and providing security updates for all versions of Internet Explorer below IE 11 as of January 12, 2016.

To limit the college’s risk related to running older versions of the Web browser, DIIS will be "pushing out" IE 11 to the 400 or so College-owned Windows computers that have the older IE 9 or IE 10 installed. Beginning at 10 p.m. on Monday, 2/15, IE 11 will begin ‘quietly’ installing (quietly meaning you shouldn’t notice) on powered-on computers. Upon the next reboot, IE 11 will have replaced IE 9 or IE 10. This process will occur over time as computers are booted up for the first time after 10 p.m. on 2/15.

If you have a computer(s) that needs to remain at IE 9 or IE 10 for software compatibility reasons, please complete the following short form as soon as possible to request an exemption from the automatic upgrade:

Internet Explorer 11 Exemption Request Form

If you notice any problems with Internet Explorer after it has been automatically upgraded, please contact the Service Desk for assistance.
