Associate Professor Scott Hamula was nominated by the American Advertising Federation (AAF) and has been selected to serve on the National Advertising Review Board (NARB) -- a body that serves to assure that advertising claims are truthful and accurate.

NARB is the appellate unit of the advertising industry's self-regulatory system. NARB members, selected for their standing in the industry, are volunteers and their service provides an invaluable depth of experience to the self-regulatory system.

Five-member NARB panels are convened to review advertising claims following the appeal of a decision by the National Advertising Division (NAD) or Children's Advertising Review Unit (CARU). Panelists convene at the offices of the Advertising Self-Regulatory Council (ASRC), hear oral arguments, examine substantiation, and determine whether claims made in national advertising are truthful and accurate.

Professor Hamula is the Program Director of the Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) major and Chair of the Department of Strategic Communication.
