Ithaca College

Each year, the School of Music Performance Studies Department sponsors a concerto competition.  The winners of this competition are provided the opportunity to perform with the Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra (ICSO).  On Sunday afternoon, January 31st, nineteen finalists, having already been selected to perform via preliminary rounds of competition, took the stage in Ford Hall to compete for this honor.

The following students were declared winners in the 2016 Ithaca College Concerto Competition:

Benjamin Pawlak, a Piano Performance major studying Prof. Greg DeTurck;

Ariana Warren, a Vocal Performance & Music Education major, studying with Prof. Carol McAmis;

Kathryn Vorel & Kengo Ito, marimbists, Percussion Performance majors, studying with Prof. Gordon Stout.

These students will perform their selections with the ICSO, under the direction of Prof. Jeffery Meyer, on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at 4:00 PM in Ford Hall, James J. Whalen Center for Music.
