Short Film and Discussion on Solitary Confinement in NYContributed by Thi Kim Ngan Tran on 03/04/16 Join IC Books Thru Bars for Molly Crabapple’s short film, followed by a workshop on solitary confident in NY and how to get involved in the movement to end this torture. Solitary confinement is a form of imprisonment in which an inmate is isolated from any human contact, though often with the exception of members of prison staff. It is sometimes employed as a form of punishment beyond incarceration for a prisoner and has been cited as an additional measure of protection for the inmate. The event is at 8:30pm on Tuesday, March 08 in Friends 207. We hope to see everyone there. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Ngan Tran at ntran@ithaca.edu. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible. |
