As of about 7:00 Tuesday evening, Digital Instruction and Information Services has resolved the issues with the network and restored all functionality.

The primary cause of the network service disruption was that two separate network components experienced hardware failures, including one which was only a partial failure, a fact that increased the complexity of the diagnosis. We continue to evaluate other components and monitor network performance.

All network services, including WWW, myHome, myIthaca, and Sakai, should be accessible as normal from on-campus wired and wireless networks, and from off campus.

If you experience any problems of systems or services not working as expected, please send a detailed email to servicedesk@ithaca.edu.

One of the impacts of the network issue is that some email notifications, such as Intercom Roundup and IC Workflow notifications, were delayed. These queued messages are now reaching your inbox.

DIIS is proceeding with its scheduled series of major core network upgrades and improvements, which start this coming Saturday night and will continue this summer.

We appreciate your patience as we worked through this issue.
