correct their usage. Ryan Wibby is not an alumni--he's an alumnus. The word
alumnus is Latin. In English, we use the Latin forms of this word. That means
alumnus (singular) and alumni (plural) for males, and alumna (singular) and
alumnae (plural) for plurals. To get around the gender problem of the plural
when there is a mixed group of male and female graduates, the form alumni/ae
is often used.
