National Financial Literacy Month is an effort to highlight the importance of financial literacy and teach individuals how to establish and maintain healthy financial habits.

Investopedia defines financial literacy as the possession of knowledge and understanding of financial matters. Financial literacy is mainly used in connection with personal finance matters. Financial literacy often entails the knowledge of properly making decisions pertaining to certain personal finance areas like real estate, insurance, investing, saving, tax planning, and retirement.

Essentially, financial literacy is all about making the most of your money and striving to achieve financial wellness.
