The Ithaca College Gerontology Institute presents: Palliative Care: Research and Practice Presenters:
The topic of palliative care is getting more attention, yet misunderstandings remain. What is palliative care? How does palliative care benefit people? What barriers do people face to obtaining palliative care? How is it distinguished from other medical specialties? This workshop will explore these questions and more. The workshop will include an introduction to the field of palliative care, present results of a community survey of knowledge and attitudes regarding palliative care among Central New Yorkers, distill the latest research on palliative care, and explore considerations in the practice of palliative care.
This workshop is held at the Country Inn & Suites, 1100 Danby Road (Route 96B), Ithaca, NY. Registration is required. To register and for more information, visit https://www.ithaca.edu/agingworkshops/
