A panel of women will be discussing their views on today's stereotypes of women.  A brief movie will be shown first and audience participation is encouraged.

Three Health Promotion seniors are hosting a panel discussion on the influences of media on women's empowerment and body image as it relates to health Friday April 8th 5-7 pm in Klingenstein Lounge.  La Maria McDonald, Hillary Nguyen, and Annabelle Fears are bringing awareness to college students about social norms and women.  Their goal is to educate students with a panel discussion after a movie screening to help students to become more aware of some of the negative connotations of being a female.

The event is not only for women, but also for men - everyone can take part in the discussion.

A short video (Killing Us Softly: Advertising’s Image of Women by Sut Jhally; Jeane Kilbourne; 2010) will be screened before the discussion panel.
