LAST CHANCE! Interested in Live Event Planning? (Everybody Loves a Parade)Contributed by Rob Gearhart on 04/12/16 Are you interested in event planning and management? Don't miss this amazing weekend mini-course opportunity to learn about it from some of the best, Park School Alum Barry Mendelson and his team from MEG, the Mendelson Entertainment Group:
Register at homerconnect.ithaca.edu. This course is open to all students (and seats are still available!) GCOM 29256 - Everybody Loves a Parade - April 15-17 (1 cr.) The course explores the connections, processes, and best practices in building and staging a large scale entertainment event. The Dallas Children’s Health Holiday Parade will be used as the primary example of this type of event. The Parade combines planning for both the live audience (500,000 people on the streets) and a worldwide TV audience (177 countries). Students will have the opportunity to gain knowledge of live event production, TV Production/Distribution, and planning. Students will learn to critically analyze a large scale yearly entertainment event and how it connects to their majors, courses taken/taking, and career aspirations. In addition, students will create a breakdown of the planning of a large event.
