This year, thirteen students and one faculty member have been honored by membership in the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society. The Sigma Xi motto is: "Companions in Zealous Research", a phrase that describes these scientists well. Founded in 1886, Sigma Xi is the international honor society of scientists and engineers who are elected to membership because of their research achievements or potential. The honorees were introduced by their research mentors at the banquet of the Paulen A Smith Chapter, which is celebrating its Fifty-first year at Ithaca College.

Congratulations to faculty member Te-Wen Lo (Biology) and the following students for their outstanding research accomplishments and this well-deserved honor.

New members of Sigma Xi: Ryan Bianconi, Joshua Speer, Eli Adler, Evan Van der Wall, Matt Finegan, Ben Morse, Jonathan Smucker, Rachael Holcomb, Emily Conklin, Siera Rosen, Erika Bucior, Cynthia Becker, Nathan Leslie
