Digital Instruction and Information Services is currently planning for software upgrades in DIIS-managed eClassrooms and meeting rooms for the 2016-17 academic year. If you need software installed or upgraded to support instruction, please notify our Service Desk (servicedesk@ithaca.edu) by Monday, May 2, 2016.

Please note that by semester startup eClassroom and meeting room computers will come with the following:

 Windows:

  • Windows computers being replaced through the Technology Renewal Program will be replaced with a Dell Small Form Factor computer and will come with Windows 7 64-bit Operating System
  • Windows computers not being replaced will also remain at Windows 7 64-bit Operating System
  • Computers will continue to auto login
  • Computers will continue to auto login
  • Computers will shut down after 60 minutes of inactivity (no keyboard or mouse movement)
  • MS Office will be upgraded to Office 2016 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, and Access)
  • SPSS 23 will be upgraded to SPSS 24
  • Adobe Acrobat DC

Macs:

  • Mac computers being replaced through the Technology Renewal Program will be replaced with an iMac computer and will come with OS X El Capitan 10.11
  • Mac computers not being replaced will remain at OS X Yosemite 10.10
  • Computers will continue to auto login
  • MS Office will be upgraded to Office 2016 (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • SPSS 23 will be upgraded to SPSS 24
  • iBooks Author
  • Adobe Acrobat DC
