The Language Resource Center at Cornell University is pleased to invite you to a multilingual poetry reading and international dessert  reception on Friday, April 29th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM in Clark Hall,
Room 700, on the Cornell University campus.

The objective of the event is to raise awareness of the Shared Course Initiative (SCI), an agreement among Columbia, Cornell, and Yale Universities to share instruction in the less commonly taught
languages using videoconference technology. The event will feature students reading poems selected by their teachers in 12 languages: Bengali, Punjabi, Dutch, Bosnian, Serbian, Croatian, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Wolof, Swahili, Yoruba, and Zulu.  The texts of the poems and their English translations will be provided to the audience.

There will be a selection of African, Dutch, Central European, and South Asian desserts chosen by the teachers.

The event is free and open to all.

Questions and for disability accomodations,  please contact Lisa Sansoucy, SCI Coordinator at LJS4@cornell.edu.
