Professor Barney Beins has been named Historian of the Eastern Psychological Association, the oldest regional psychology association in the country. As part of his work as historian, he will work with the Center for the History of Psychology and the American Psychological Association to archive EPA’s records. In addition, he will be planning EPA’s 125th anniversary celebration.

In his role as historian, he also serves on EPA’s Board of Directors and on the Program Planning Committee. At the most recent meeting, he organized the history presentations, making a presentation entitled "Even if you didn’t see it, subliminal perception has preoccupied psychology for a century" and chairing two symposia. He also made a teaching presentation, "Popular knowledge and popular belief: Facts are slippery little devils."
