#ICVictory: Men's and Women's Lacrosse, Softball NCAA-BoundContributed by John Boccacino on 05/08/16 Ithaca College's men's lacrosse and softball teams captured Empire 8 postseason championships and automatic qualifiers into the NCAA Division III tournament. Women's lacrosse earned an at-large bid into NCAA's. The Ithaca College men's lacrosse team will make its 13th all-time appearance in the NCAA Division III tournament when the Bombers host Morrisville State at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Higgins Stadium. The Bombers defeated Stevens 15-11 to win the Empire 8 championship. This is Ithaca's ninth NCAA tournament appearance under longtime head coach Jeff Long, in his 29th season leading the Bombers. Erin McQuillan lined a two-out two-run single up the middle to lift the nationally-ranked and top-seeded Ithaca College softball team to a 3-2 walk-off win over second-seeded St. John Fisher College and the 2016 Empire 8 Championship on Sunday at Doris Kostrinsky Field. With the win, Ithaca, which is now 32-8 overall, earned the Conference's automatic bid into the 2016 NCAA Division III Softball Championship and will find out who it will face at 1 p.m. on Monday during the NCAA selection show. The Ithaca College women's lacrosse team is heading back to the NCAA Division III tournament after securing an at-large berth.
