Ithaca College

I write to inform you that the college’s Director of Energy Management and Sustainability (EM&S), Mr. Jerone Gagliano, has resigned his position effective May 6, 2016.  I have appreciated Mr. Gagliano’s contributions during his five-month tenure, and wish him only the best as he transitions into the next phase of his professional career.

Additionally, I am very pleased to report that Mr. Gregory Lischke has been hired as the new Director of EM&S.   Mr. Lischke is a registered professional engineer, with a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Dayton.  He has served highly successful stints at Wake Forest University and, more recently, at the State University of New York College at Brockport, in leadership positions directly related to utilities and energy management.

Mr. Lischke’s first day on campus will be Monday, June 13.  He will spend a considerable amount of time meeting with the college’s valued faculty, staff and students to learn more about the rich history of EM&S at Ithaca College and to forge partnerships with each of these cohorts, as well as with those in the wider Ithaca community.  During the summer months, Mr. Lischke will also be leading the effort to fill the currently vacant and critically important Sustainability Programs Coordinator position.

I very much look forward to Mr. Lischke’s arrival.  I am confident that once the department is fully staffed and the incumbents have had an opportunity to become fully oriented to the college, our EM&S program will serve as a dynamic functional unit that is both proactive and responsive as it relates to the needs of the campus and larger communities.
