Commencement Eve Concert Directed by award-winning composer and professor Dana Wilson, this year's Commencement Eve program showcases outstanding student and faculty talent from the Ithaca College School of Music. Wilson is retiring from teaching in the School of Music, so this will the last Commencement Eve concert he will direct; his first was in 1988. Titled "American Roots: how our music evolved the way it did," the evening features a fast-paced, entertaining program in which the Ithaca College Choir, Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Marimba Ragtime Band, and soloists surround the audience to perform a splendid variety of music. In honor of our graduates, the concert will be followed by a fireworks display on the east side of the A&E Center. Please follow the directions of the ushers as you leave the arena. The fireworks should be viewable from multiple locations on campus, including the Campus Center quad. Commencement Eve Concert - Open Dress Rehearsal The concert and fireworks display are free and open to the public. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodation for the concert should contact the Office of Student Affairs and Campus Life at 607-274-3374. |
