Yvonne Rogalski (speech-language pathologist) and Amy Rominger (audiologist) from the department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology presented at the online conference "Maximizing Functional Outcomes for Patients with Dementia."

Their interdisciplinary session was titled "A Team Approach to Addressing Hearing Loss in Patients with Dementia," and focused on the complicated relationship between hearing loss and dementia and how speech-language pathologists and audiologists can help a person with dementia prior to, during, and after a hearing evaluation. The session also offered strategies for helping a patient's family members and caregivers enhance the patient's quality of life.
