Michael Malpass' book, Ancient People of the Andes, was released by Cornell University Press in June.

Professor Malpass' book, a general text for college classes as well as laypersons, covers the prehistory of the central Andean region between Ecuador and northern Chile, from the first peopling of the continent to the arrival of Europeans. The book emphasizes processes of cultural evolution and environmental/cultural interactions. Ancient People of the Andes is written with minimal jargon to make it more accessible to non-professionals.
