The FYRE Associate plays an integral role in the success of our first-year students by providing leadership for the educational and experiential initiatives within each FYRE residential cluster at Ithaca College.

The First-Year Residential Experience (FYRE) is an educational community experience for first-year students with goals of easing student transitions, supporting academic success, and furthering student learning on selected outcomes. (SLO Initiatives are events, campaigns, or other learning strategies that further students understanding of a specific learning outcome.)

  1. SLO Initiatives focused on Diversity & Inclusion with a specific emphasis towards the Student Learning Outcome: “Students will be able to identify three benefits of engaging with diverse perspectives."

  2. SLO Initiatives focused on Sustainability with a specific emphasis towards the Student Learning Outcome: “Students will be able to describe three positive practices that contribute to a sustainable community.”

  3. SLO Initiatives focused on Social & Emotional Learning with a specific emphasis towards the Student Learning Outcome: “Students will be able to identify three ways they can adjust actions to nurture positive interactions.”
