Please update your statement about accessibility services in your syllabusContributed by Leslie Reid on 08/15/16 In response to requests by faculty for a statement regarding services for students with disabilities, here is a concise insert for inclusion in course syllabi. Please know that our office is now located in 100 Rothschild Place. "In accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act, reasonable accommodations will be provided to qualified students with documented disabilities. Students seeking accommodations must register with Student Accessibility Services (SAS) and provide appropriate documentation to SAS before any accommodations can be provided. Please note that accommodations are not retroactive so timely contact with Student Accessibility Services is encouraged." Please encourage students registered with Student Accessibility Services to meet with you during office hours to discuss their accommodation plan. It is important to respect confidentiality, so we ask that you do not speak about individual student accommodations in a group setting. Please contact our office with any questions or concerns 607-274-1005 or sas@ithaca.edu |
