This Friday August 26th, 2016 at the First Bomber Weekend Welcome Picnic (4-6:30pm) please join us on the Fitness Center Quad to create a Unity Canopy.

A Unity Canopy is a circular arrangement of 32 poles in a large field. Each pole is labeled with an identifier. For example, “I’m a parent,” “I speak English as a Second Language,” “I identify as LGBTQ.” With yarn, participants tie to each pole with which they identify. By the end participants can see that we are all connected by something. This project celebrates the uniqueness of individuals and raises awareness of how labels impact our perception of and interactions with the world. Celebrate your first weekend on campus and be apart of a global challenge to increase awareness and inclusion throughout the Ithaca College Community.
