The School of Business is very excited to announce a special event in honor of Constitution Day, which commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution. Please join us as we welcome three prominent panelists to discuss issues of defendants’ rights in the criminal court system.

Distinguished Panelists:

Tom Kertscher is the reporter for the Milwaukee  Journal Sentinel who covered the trial of Steven Avery, the defendant portrayed in the 2015 Netflix documentary series, Making a Murderer.

Brad Rudin, J.D., Assistant District Attorney for Tompkins County since 2007.  Formerly a staff attorney at the Ithaca office of Prisoners Legal Services of New York and supervising and staff attorney with The Legal Aid Society in New York City. Brad has been a presenter on ethics panels sponsored by the Tompkins County Bar Association and the NYS Bar Association.

Joe Joch, J.D., has extensive experience as a trial attorney both prosecutorial and defense related.  He was Tompkins County District Attorney in the 1970s and is now a dedicated trial lawyer who fights tirelessly for the rights of those accused and who demands fairplay from the prosecution.

Leadership Certificate credit will be offered in the Career Connections category. Students must register on the School of Business Portal in OrgSync at least 48 hours before the event and must bring their student ID cards to the event in order to receive credit.
