The Diversity Awareness Seeks Nominees for 2016-2018 MembershipContributed by Michelle Rios-Dominguez on 09/20/16 The Diversity Awareness Committee (DAC) seeks self-nominations to serve as a member for a two-year term. Membership is open to faculty, staff and students. The mission of the Diversity Awareness Committee is to provide educational programs, celebratory events and experiential activities on issues of diversity relevant to our campus community and in our society. The Committee strives through these events to bring positive change to attitudes, values, and behavior. The Diversity Awareness Committee also provides funding and other types of support to groups and individuals that are engaged in providing a variety of activities designed to provide educational programs and experiential activities on issues of diversity relevant to our campus community. Members are expected to serve on the DAC as well as one subcommittee. There are several positions available but we are in particular need of members who are interested in serving on the Race, Culture and Ethnicity and the Disability and Accessibility subcommittees. The deadline for nominations is Friday, September 30th, 2016.
