I'm sorry to share the sad news that former employee Anne Ryan passed away yesterday morning. Anne, who led development communications efforts in what is now known as the Division of Institutional Advancement and Communication, worked at IC from the mid-1990s until she retired about a decade ago. After she retired, she had continued to be a frequent collaborator and freelancer.

There will be a celebration of her life this Saturday, September 24, at noon, at Simeon's on the Ithaca Commons. The address is 224 East State Street.

Her family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations in Anne's memory be made to the Arthritis National Research Foundation. Checks may be mailed to 5354 E. 2nd Street, Suite 201, Long Beach, CA 90803, or may you donate online at www.curearthritis.org/donate/.

Here a link to Anne's obituary, published September 22 in the Ithaca Journal.

Many at IC knew how wonderful she was to work with, and how warm and charming she was. We send our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues.

Sad news, indeed. During my Alumni Hall years, Anne was a
fellow colleague who treated everyone with kindness. She
was wicked smart, wicked funny (sometimes literally), a
fashion plate, and just the most lovely person. I am so
very sorry to hear of her passing.
