An informal gathering in the LGBT Resource Room for students designed to build support and strengthen community with each other, and to engage in self care. Refreshments and self care activities provided. Many students continue to process and heal from painful, heartbreaking events this summer as well as those that continue - the shooting at Orlando, ongoing violence against people of color, people who have disabilities and LGBTQ people, and a rising tide of anti-LGBTQ legislation in states including North Carolina. Come for community, caring, and support. One of a series of offerings of the LGBT Center to examine, analyze, and address ways racism, homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia, and other systems of oppression affect us and intersect, and ways we can support each other and continue to work in solidarity in the many realms that create and maintain systems of oppression and marginalization. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Luca Maurer at lmaurer@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-7394. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible. |
