Greetings! Please read the following updates and reminders related to the ICC. As both ICC program and student learning outcomes data become available, they will be posted to the ICC website, https://www.ithaca.edu/icc/facstaff/protected/iccassessment/. New data has been posted for student outcome assessment through May 2015 and data on available seats based on perspectives within themes is available through Fall 2016. Enrollment data in ICC Themes is now available from Institutional Research, https://www.ithaca.edu/ir/instdata/. A current list of approved courses can be found on the ICC site, www.ithaca.edu/icc, and the advising center maintains a grid of current Theme and Perspective offerings, https://www.ithaca.edu/advising/curriculum/iccworksheets/. Currently, there is no way to project actual need for students to meet graduation requirements. Extrapolating from historical data of empty seats we are in need of seats in the Creative Arts perspective in all themes, we are in need of seats in all perspectives in the Mind, Body, Spirit theme, we are in need of seats in the Natural Science perspective in the Identities theme and Power and Justice theme, and we are in need of seats in the Social Science perspective in the Identities theme. We also need to keep seats that we are currently offering so additional seats should not come at the expense of current offerings. So that both faculty and students have a clear sense of when ICC course designations are effective, CCR has established deadlines for proposal submission. For ICC designations to be effective for Spring 2017 course offerings, proposals must be submitted to icc@ithaca.edu no later than November 1, 2016. This deadline is the absolute latest that proposals will be considered by CCR for Spring designation and will enable CCR to provide faculty with a review response sufficiently in advance of the semester for planning purposes. Please be aware that ICC courses are not retroactively designated. If you have any questions about the submission process or would like help with your proposal please contact Vincent DeTuri, Director of the ICC at icc@ithaca.edu. |
