“Can You Trust Mainstream News Media? Racial and Other Biases,” will be the topic of Janine Jackson’s campus lecture on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. in Emerson Suites. The event is sponsored by the Park Center for Independent Media.

One of our country’s leading media critics, Jackson is the program director of the media watch group FAIR (Fairness & Accuracy in Reporting). She is producer and host of FAIR’s nationally-syndicated radio show CounterSpin, which is heard locally on WRFI.

Janine Jackson is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and has an M.A. in sociology from the New School for Social Research. Her views on media controversies are quoted by mainstream and independent news outlets. She has testified before Congress during the fight over public broadcasting.
