Faculty Recital: Wendy Herbener Mehne, flute

This program is entitled "Friends and Family" and includes Jennifer Higdon’s Legacy the Poulence Sonata with pianist Diane Birr.  Wendy Mehne’s brother-in-law, oboist William McMullen, will join her for Mozart duets from The Magic Flute.  Her sister Catherine Herbener will play harpsichord on a J.S. Bach flute sonata, which will also include cellist Heidi Hoffman.  To conclude, Dana Wilson’s ‘Gold Mosaic’ for flute, oboe, and piano with Catherine Herbener, piano and William McMullen, oboe.

Works by Granados and Brahms and the world premiere of Merit of Light, a song cycle for mezzo soprano and piano by Stephen Dankner, with poetry by Stephen Rifkin.  There will be a Talk Back and Q and A after the world premiere.
