Cristina Gomez, Mathematics/Education, gives the Randolph Lecture at MAAContributed by Cristina Gomez on 10/23/16 Cristina Gomez gives the Randolph Lecture in Mathematics Education at the Fall 2016 Seaway Section Meeting of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Dr Gomez was invited to give the Mathematics Education lecture at the New York State meeting of the MAA. The talk, entitled "Mathematics for all", explored some of the alternatives to promote positive views of mathematics. Dr Gomez presented data on gender and race, related to achievement gap in mathematics, and some of the programs that have addressed the gap in successful ways. |
