Student photo project covered by the Washington PostContributed by Patricia Rodriguez on 10/26/16 IC Students for Labor Action, a student organization, recently received national attention for a photo essay depicting the struggles of part-time and contingent faculty members. On October 24, Danielle Douglas-Gabriel, a reporter with the Washington Post, published an article entitled “This photo essay shows what it really means to be adjunct faculty,” featuring the photographs of senior sociology student, and SLA President, Taylor Ford. The photographs show contingent faculty members, alongside short quotes about their experiences as employees of the college. This article was part of Douglas-Gabriel’s running column Grade Point, which covers higher education issues.
