Show your appreciation for veterans of the armed services at Ithaca College's 14th annual Veterans Day Celebration! Thursday, November 10, 2016 Noon-1 pm Ford Hall, Whalen Center for Music The celebration will feature a presentation by Sean Reid, dean of the School of Business and U.S. Navy Captain. Reid is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and has spent the past three decades as an officer on active duty and in the reserves. Reid earned a B.S. in political science from the United States Naval Academy, an M.B.A. from Incarnate Word College, and a Ph.D. in finance from the University of Rhode Island. He came to Ithaca College from Quinnipiac University, where he was associate dean of the School of Business and director of the financial technology center. He previously taught at Salisbury University and the University of New Haven and has professional industry experience as an investment advisor and securities analyst with Integrity Global Asset Management. A captain in the U.S. Navy Reserve, Reid currently serves in a number of management and advisory roles with the Office of Naval Research. He previously held administrative, training, and research positions at the Naval War College and Navy Center for Personal and Professional Development. During the first twenty years of his military career, Reid served as a Naval Flight Officer and Aircraft Mission Commander on the P-3C Orion during numerous overseas deployments—including Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm—and was a flight instructor. The celebration will also feature performances by the Ithaca College Brass Choir and IC VoICes. Light refreshments will be served following the celebration.
