The School of Humanities and Sciences is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2017 H&S Summer Scholars Program. Students with H&S majors and an H&S faculty mentor are eligible to apply.

The H&S Summer Scholar Program provides paid positions for H&S students in creative arts, humanities, social sciences, or mathematics to engage full-time for 8-10 weeks during the summer in a research, scholarship, or creative inquiry project, in collaboration with a Faculty Mentor. This is the third year of the program; this year, up to 20 students may receive a Scholar award, depending on funding availability.

All students with majors in H&S are eligible to apply; financial aid eligibility is not a requirement for the program, although financial aid eligible students can be considered for an Emerson Humanities Collaboration Award through the application process. This program is made possible in part by Ithaca Annual Fund gifts and by the Emerson Foundation's support for the Humanities Collaboration Award.

There will be two 50-minute information sessions on Tuesday, November 15 for interested students and faculty, including Scholars and Mentors from the summer 2016 program:
at 12:10 in Business 202 (with Scholars in math and social science and a Mentor in the humanities)
or
at 4pm in Business 310 (with Scholars in the humanities, and a Mentor in the social sciences).

The deadline for applications to be submitted is Monday, February 13, at noon.
Both Scholars and Mentors must submit proposals to the program.
Decisions will be announced no later than March 11, 2017.
