Professor Barney Beins delivered an address as president of the New England Psychological at its annual convention in October. The talk was entitled Psychological Science and Scientific Literacy: Paths to a Good Life.

Professor Beins will serve as past president for 2017; he has been on the NEPA Steering Committee since 2012 and co-coordinates the Northeastern Conference for Teachers of Psychology (NECTOP), which is an annual pre-conference event held in conjunction with the NEPA convention. He created NECTOP in 1995; for the first four years, it was held at Ithaca College. He passed the gavel to his successor, Professor Dov Kugelmas of Three Rivers Community College.

Great job, Barney. It is truly impressive that the President of this large
organization is one of our own. I hope administrators, students and faculty
appreciate this achievement.
