Fun Winter Course

 If you need credits to graduate and also want to have fun and explore your creativity consider taking a winter course

30019 MATH 13500 Mathematical Art with Computers, section 01

 

The course is for students who are looking for ways to express their innate creativity in Music Composition or Mathematical Animation or for students who Love working with elementary school children.

 

The learning will be based on a project that the student will do with support of the instructor and/or non academic  consultants.  Some projects will be done in collaboration with other students or outside consultants.

 

Examples of possible projects:

 

  1. Learn a mathematical computer language and create an animated movie using it (no prior programming experience is necessary)

  2. Take animated movies done by other people and compose music for it (some knowledge of music theory is required).

  3. Learn how to construct a Labyrinth and help lead children to construct it

  4. Teach children mathematics with music (for music education majors)
