Are you looking for a supportive environment for learning and discussing strategies to free yourself from alcohol, drug use, or another addictive behavior? If so, then the new Smart Recovery Group may be for you!

Smart Recovery is a new group offered by Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) for IC students. This group:

  • Offers tools and techniques for abstaining from substance use or other addictive behaviors (gambling, sex, technology, etc.).
  • Provides meetings that are educational, supportive and interactive.
  • Differs from Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and other 12-step programs in many ways.
  • No formal commitment (to abstinence or attendance) is required of participants.

The group will begin meeting on Friday, February 17th from 1:00-2:00pm in the Health Center conference room (upper floor). If you're interested in attending, or if you'd like more information, please send an email to smartrecovery@ithaca.edu.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact smartrecovery@ithaca.edu or call CAPS at (607) 274-3136. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
