Reynolds Whalen--Executive Director of Performing Arts Abroad--will give information about dozens of theater, music, dance, and film opportunities abroad and a $1,000 scholarship currently being offered. Ithaca student Sarah Pinto will also talk briefly about her program in Costa Rica last summer. The session will be held on Tuesday, February 7th from 4-5 p.m. at the James J. Whalen Center for Music Room 3302, and pizza will be provided.

Performing Arts Abroad offers internships, study abroad programs, volunteer opportunities, and training / intensive workshops in over a dozen countries. Examples include performing Shakespeare in London under the instruction of faculty from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), training in musical theatre with current cast members on the West End in London, interning with an arts organization in Cape Town, Quito, Florence, Rome, Barcelona, or London, exploring Arts for Development and Social Change in Kenya or the Galapagos Islands, taking filmmaking and acting for film workshops in Paris, studying performance in New Zealand, using circus arts for community outreach in Costa Rica and MUCH more.    Performing Arts Abroad believes in the power of the arts to create positive change in our world, and knows that now more than ever we need informed artists collaborating across cultures to promote acceptance and understanding.
