Contingent faculty strike supported by the Department of EconomicsContributed by Shaianne Osterreich on 02/17/17 Open statement to the campus community. The Department of Economics writes to express our support for our part-time and contingent faculty members, who are currently engaged in negotiations with the Ithaca College administration concerning salary, benefits, and contract stability. We deeply hope that the college and the union can work together toward a mutually satisfactory outcome, which avoids any disruption to our students’ education. However, in the event that the union decides to strike, we will respect that decision and we will not move to replace our faculty colleagues. Signed, The Department of Economics
