The Flying Africans and Black Holes: Legends of Folklore and Scientific Imagination

Through drawing, performance and installation, Jessica Scott-Felder creates visual and ephemeral iterations based on American folklore, the African Diaspora, and physics. Jessica will discuss her latest installation “Black Matter,” based on the story of "The Flying Africans," Afrofuturist literature, and black holes.
