Habitat for Humanity’s Free Women Build Training SeminarsContributed by Katie Sack on 02/28/17 Habitat’s Women Build program invites all females to learn and practice construction skills in a welcoming, friendly, positive environment. Training sessions are hands-on and last approximately one hour, enough time to test the tools and ask lots of questions without taking up your entire evening. Girls ages 14 and up are also welcome to join in! Habitat for Humanity hopes participants will put their skills to good use by volunteering on a Habitat job site, making a difference by helping them construct decent, affordable homes right here in our community. Mark your calendars, ladies and gather at Lowes in Ithaca at 6:00 PM on the following Wednesdays to learn and build together! Habitat for Humanity is taking your requests for our April 19th and May 3rd trainings – let them know what you’d like to learn and they’ll help tackle your construction, home repair, or tool challenge! Also, the Women Build Committee will be gathering immediately before each training session, at 5:00 PM, to discuss Women Build event planning, construction activities, fundraising and more. If you’d like to get involved beyond the construction site, join in! Habitat for Humanity always welcoming new committee members and you can commit to as much or as little involvement as you like.
